My Puffy Different Kinds of Hair!
My hair is part of my identity. People would not recognize me without my curly hair. When I had my hair straightened once my friend looked at me in a confused way and asked me, "What's happened to you?? Something doesn't look right!” In some ways my hair affects my personality. When my hair is wet I am more energetic and feel sillier. It reminds me of going through a cold sprinkler in October. I wear different hairstyles. School hair is in braids. It’s in braids so that it does not get like a tangled mess of yarn! When I have my hair in braids I fell less crazy than I do on the weekends when my hair is loose. Weekend hair is a big puffy ponytail or loose lion mane hair. On weekends you have “all the time in the world." Having “all the time in the world” means I don’t have to worry about doing my hair and how long it will take. I like to take my time and not rush, unlike during the week. When I go on a camping trip away from home and don’t want to do my hair I get my hair braided in tight African braids. When I have my hair in braids my dad calls me “Africa.” My braided hair brings out the African in me. My hair is a mix between my dad’s Trinidadian, fat spaghetti dreadlocks and my mom’s wavy, brown and grey spider web Irish hair. After a long day the front of my hair goes crazy and has a mind of its own. It’s mad scientist hair that wants to break off my head and do some crazy experiment.
