Summer
OJ #4: Use your imagination to describe a place you imagine or a place you have briefly been
Turn one OJ into a poem
The salty air will engulf the land,
with the clear scent of Summer.
The gentle sea breezes will run through the beach,
salty and sweet and refreshing.
The smooth, white sand will be dotted
with tiny seashells, washed onto the shores
by raging waves,
thrashing and fuming, beating
the sand.
The ocean and the sky merge
creating a never-ending, limitless surface.
The deep, royal blue and the pure, light blue merge
in a dull, gray line.
The sky is a highway for seagulls,
cawing and swooping happily.
The seaside cottages will be a weathered gray,
and surrounded by white sand, and lush, green sea grasses.
The beaches will be dotted with people;
colorful towels and wide umbrellas
to shelter the vacationers from the scorching sun.
And after 10:00 when the sun sets,
stars will glisten in the sky,
and the crashing of the waves will lull you
to a deep slumber.
