Exemplary Work

Tiny Puzzle Pieces Make a Picture

1) When you look at something closely, it looks different than it does as a whole.

2) It looks more vulnerable, more patchy.

3) Light is not material, but it is an illusion.

4) When you squint, little squares detach, move, and reassemble.

5) Even though I know it is flat, it looks as if it is tilting backwards.

6) Leaning shakily away from me, scared to start.

7) It looks shaky, as if the slightest whispers would send it flying.

8) Cherubs' faces, frozen in concrete smiles, no longer a surprise.

The painting

Trapped in a world of blue and green

Peaceful but lonely, terrified but happy

Ineed to get out of here, this place is so strange

The moonlight adds a calming yellow tint to this blue and green world

Moonlight, the only light

Nothing can be seen, do not know where to go

Quiet, Silent, no sound at all

I am a tiny speck in this huge world

Floating in the water my body is still

Wavery edges, not straight

Terrefied of the thought of this ominous place

Anger

Anger

By Tyliel Wallace

 It follows me

everywhere I go

It runs down the stairs

It stabs my heart

Stupid anger

It gets in my face

and tries to cut my arms

It's the stalker

That keeps you up

that makes you happy

only for a moment

When your family helps you

when they scream

Anger rushes for the opportunity

It's the devil on your shoulder

It's the wrong trail

It's the 5 letter word

Anger.

I Want to Be

I want to be someone who's bold and daring. I want to be someone who people look up to because I tried. I like to dance, but I'm not so sure if that's the way to be something important, someone. Maybe it is. Sometimes I want to shout and make people pay attention to me. I want to be like Lindsey Vauhn, who won an Olympic medal for skiing with a hurt leg. I want to be something like the first woman major league baseball player. (I don't know any baseball.) But anyone who are looked up to and have strength this way seem to be 'the boss,' famous, or fiction.

Observations in The Gym

The floor is like a slippery , shiny iceskating ring. It smells like a rainy day and feels like the cold air is pinching my skin. The lights shine like a orange star, locked in a cage. The painted animals on the walls look like they could jump out the walls and be wild as if they were in the jungle. My classmates in the gym are laying clueless on the floor, as if confused on what clothes to wear to a party. They figit and write their half full pages, writing and writing as if they were dared to or as if their lives depended on it. They wonder into the yellow cheesy walls.

The year and then some

"Oh boy! I'm coming up!" Thought January. "No more Decemebr." January would finally be up to bat. The coach had put him as bench warmer for what felt like a year. But now it was HIS turn. Not Decmber, not November, not October. Januaries. 2010th inning too. Everyone cheered. January stepped up to plate. He shrugged his eyes and stared at the pitcher; WInter. Winter tossed the ball to January. He hit it and ran and ran. HOME RUN!! That would be winters last pich for awhile, now it was finally Springs turn. January was done.

The Song Within

A wise person once said "There's a song for every situation, and a situation for every song." I read it in many books afterward, and now, I am eleven years old. I was six when I first the quote, and eleven when I heard the song that helped me understand it. I heard it today, April 8, 2009.  Whoever first said that was correct. Whenever I'm depressed, or happy, or angry, I find a song that goes with my  mood. Now, I've heard so many songs my head islike a MP3 player, multiple songs carrying me throughout the day.

4) The yellow clouds tower the crust of the earth

5) The lost crusader searching for land

6) Dull eye fades of once more trees

10) When will the sun set?

The Definition of War

War is a living nightmare

Only dead bodies to stare

A place where nobody cares

It's not a truth or dare

People die

Going up in the sky

Where they lye

No peace

Everything you had was seized

Dont expect help

All the pain was felt

It's already hell
