Going to Reardan this is how he coped

(Alye and Noah)At the beginning they called him a traitor
The tune they sang: (Alye) "You're an Indian hater!"

(Rina)They called him an apple
With lots of sneers and jeers

For the Love of Candy

Since last Thursday, I go home by myself. And since last Tuesday, when I missed my stop on the bus, I go to the little deli with a counter of candy. On Tuesday I got Big Red cinnamon gum, on Wednesday I got Now&Later that everyone fought over at Thursday lunch, but today I don't know what to get.

My Puffy Different Kinds of Hair!

My hair is part of my identity. People would not recognize me without my curly hair. When I had my hair straightened once my friend looked at me in a confused way and asked me, "What's happened to you?? Something doesn't look right!”

The Sports Guy

There's a guy that sits on the bench outside the bar next to my house. He always has a cigar in his hand. He never stops it, that cigar in his mouth and his raspy voice chattering about sports. Whenever I walk by, he's always blowing on that cigar. It's as if he's the only one on this planet, blowing away by himself.  He always has beer to go along, like ornaments on a Christmas tree.

My Favorite Place In The World: Greenwich Village

I have lived in Greenwich Village all my life, that I can remember at least. But it's not a village, it's a neighborhood, where the buildings are old, and small, definitely not like the skyscrapers, who are so tall they seem to have been stretched. My neighborhood's buildings are quiet and respectful, living in their calm manner, like a pond. My apartment is two floored, with big windows. Big windows to see the world -my world- out of.

Bounty Hunter

Mardas frowned at the crumpled paper that lay between his wrinkled fingers. This Arthur person seemed harder to find than anyone else. He licked his cracked lips as he glared out of the dull window. The glass was so old and so dirty that he could barely see the starlit sky. He got up, tiredly limping across the room to his closet. He opened it up softly. The dusty doors creaked, as if moaning in agony. He reached for the French hat he kept on the top shelf. He had kept it for 40 years.

Bulgaria and Vermont

Bulgaria

The warm breeze plays with your hair, and the cool sea water soothes you. That's what Bulgaria is like, sea and sun and sand. The busiest street of Sozopol, a coastal town, is filled with tourists and souvenir shops, magazine kiosks and banks. There's a clothing store and a few hotels. The restaurants have mostly seafood, such as grilled fish, lobster, and other specialties. There are grapevines everywhere, and roses also. The two main beaches are both five-minute walks away from our hotel, HEDI.
